This Cookie Policy explains how Jump PDF at jumpdf.com (“we”, “us”) uses cookies, similar technologies, and browser local storage when you visit our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site remember information between visits. Together, they help websites function, remember preferences, and — with your consent — measure usage or show advertising.
How we use cookies and local storage
We group technologies into three categories:
- Essential — required for security and core functionality. These are always active and do not require consent.
- Analytics — optional. Loaded only if you opt in and if we have enabled a measurement tool on the site.
- Advertising — optional. Loaded only if you opt in and if advertising is enabled on the site.
Essential cookies and storage
These technologies are strictly necessary to provide the service:
- Session cookie (
jumpdf_public) — maintains a secure browser session used for CSRF protection on forms such as our contact page. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict, and expires when you close your browser. - Consent preferences (
jumpdf_site_prefsin local storage) — stores your cookie choices (essential always on, analytics and advertising on or off) and the consent version so we do not ask again unnecessarily.
We do not use essential cookies for profiling or marketing.
Analytics cookies
If you give consent and we have enabled analytics, we may use Google Tag Manager to load measurement tools such as Google Analytics. Tags respect your consent choices via Google Consent Mode — analytics and advertising storage remain denied until you opt in. We use this to understand aggregate traffic patterns, for example which pages are visited and how users navigate the site.
Google may set its own cookies and process data according to Google’s policies. We configure analytics with IP anonymization where supported. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
Advertising cookies
If you give consent and advertising is enabled on the site, we may load third-party advertising scripts (for example Google AdSense) that set cookies to deliver and measure ads. We do not enable advertising cookies without your explicit opt-in.
When advertising is disabled in our configuration, the advertising option in the consent panel is unavailable and no advertising cookies are set.
Cookie consent banner
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a cookie banner before non-essential cookies are set. You can:
- Accept all — enable analytics and advertising cookies if those features are active on the site.
- Reject non-essential — keep only essential cookies and local storage.
- Customize — choose analytics and advertising separately.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can reopen the panel and change your preferences at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
If we materially change how we use cookies, we may update the consent version and ask for your preferences again.
Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies may be set by providers such as Google when you consent to analytics or advertising. We do not control every cookie name or retention period those providers use. Refer to their privacy and cookie documentation for details.
Our PDF tools run in your browser using libraries served from our own servers. Routine tool use does not upload your file contents to third parties for processing.
How long cookies last
- Session cookie — until you close your browser.
- Consent preferences — until you clear site data or change your choice.
- Analytics / advertising cookies — set by third parties according to their policies; typically from a few days up to several months unless you delete them sooner.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site — such as secure form submission — from working correctly.
Common browser help pages: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge each provide instructions under privacy or cookie settings in their documentation.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal data collected via cookies, including access, correction, or deletion. You can also withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time via footer “Cookie settings” or by contacting us.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version.
